"Those huge nests belong to parrots," said my guide. "They have lived in Chicago for years and don't even go south for the winter."
When I got back to L.A. I was telling this story to a new acquaintance and he said, "You have parrots right outside your house. Hear that screeching noise-- there? That's parrots who have escaped. They're all over L.A."
When I lived in Silicon Valley 12 or 15 years ago, I was surprised one morning to see a big flock of green parrots roosting in a tree in my back yard. Haven't seen any in Saint-Aignan yet though.

We have lots of green parrots in Antony/Sceaux too.
A lorry full of these birds had an accident on the A86 Highway some years ago => the birds fled and have been living since in the trees of the Parc the Sceaux (and in the park of my 'résidence' too). You can find some of them easily: they are right in the middle of the park, there is a big bird family living close to some huge deer statues
