The day before I left, I made a saut to the Louvre. I wanted to go to the Musée des Arts décoratifs, but there was a long, long line, probably for the Arcimboldo Christian Lacroix exhibit which ends next week. I lost heart and went down into the main museum instead.
If you live in Paris, you always think you can see the museums another day, a more perfect day when there are no crowds and lines. Still, I have not yet seen the Musée du Quai Branly, the new museum of arts premiers, which used to be called primitive art. (The word "primitive" is now politically incorrect, and yet it comes from the same root and intrinsically means the same thing as "premier".)
So I went to the Louvre, where I hadn't been for a long time. Some of the shops had changed around and the boutique of the Chalcographies du Louvre was gone. I always thought they'd have done a lot better to change their wacky name to a foreigner-friendly "Louvre Print Shop"-- because the Chalcographies du Louvre is a place where you can order a reproduction of just about any print held in the Louvre's vast store.
In its place was.... Starbucks!
The Arcimboldo exhibit was at the Musée du Luxembourg. I'm guessing the line at the Arts Décoratifs was for the Christian Lacroix exhibition.
Just what we need, another Starbucks.

That makes sense, it was a very stylish crowd, full of Italians. How sad! I didn't get to see it.

Oh I loved that store! I wonder if they didn´t just move it somewhere else? How disappointing to see Starbucks there, ugh!

Ce qui prouve bien que le Louvre n'est frequente que par les touristes.
C'est un peu triste quand meme. Au moins, c'est pas un MacDo.
